Why Wait?

“The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”
~ Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)

In last week’s post the emphasis of Matthew 6:25 was on you. This week’s lesson shifts the focus to the God who created you.

Lesson 2: Personality: God can be trusted.

God loves you dearly. Read Jeremiah 31:33.

Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV):
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

One way in which God shows His love is by giving gifts. He only gives good gifts to His children. Read James 1:17.

James 1:17 (KJV):
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Yesterday my young friend at church was again giving away brightly coloured periwinkles. I had gotten one from him in the previous week. I learnt yesterday that he was of the impression that they were really roses! Thankfully there was a blooming rose plant at church so I was able to show him the difference.

God’s greatest gift was His dear Son Jesus. John 3:16.

John 3:16 (KJV):
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus is the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley. (Song of Solomon 2:1)

Won’t you accept the gift of God’s love and the promise of eternal life today? Don’t delay.
