Faithful Shepherd
Sheep are herbivores. This means their diet consists mostly of grass, plants and seeds.
Did You Know?
Sheep have no top teeth. The top lip of a sheep is split to allow them to eat the grass that’s closest to the ground. Their lower teeth press against their hard upper palate to break down the grass they eat.
The original diet given to humanity by God consisted of fruit, seed, nuts and grain. It was a diet for herbivores. See Genesis 1:29. After Adam and Eve fell into sin, it was extended to include the herb of the field—vegetables. See Genesis 3:18. After the flood this was extended to include clean animals. See Genesis 7:2,3.
Lesson: God will provide for us exactly what we need
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 – KJV)
